There's no question to Will Smith's ability to attract audiences to the cinema,as his new movie, Focus, reached top spot at the box office this month, earning an estimated $19.1m. (R224.6 m.) in its debut weekend...
Focus knocked down Fifty Shades of Grey into fourth place, earning $10.9 m. (R128.18 m.) after
spending 2 weeks at no.1. Colin Firth's spy thriller Kingsman: The Secret Service, came in second
place after earning $11.8 m. (R138.7 m.) that same weekend, just ahead of the Spongebob
Movie: a Sponge Out Of Water, whom earned $11.2 m. (R131.7 m.) in its fourth week of release.
The horror film: The Lazarus Effect, made the second highest entry, earning them fifth place on
the overall top five with $10.6 m. (R124.7 m.)
Focus is Will Smith's first major role since the 2013 science fiction movie After Earth, which stars
Will Smith alongside his teenage son Jaden. Focus sees Will Smith starring as a conman who
introduces his young lover to the trick of the trade before breaking off their relationship. Three
years later, they meet again in Argetina where they are both trying to scam the same billionaire.
